Catch Me

written by Benjamin Coy

(c) 1998 benjamin coy

Who am I
and how did I come to be this way
and You rescued me,
from the one I knew to be me

But You know what its like
to be a mortal man in this world
and I can’t help but stumble
and I need to be picked up from this place

and now I’m falling down
falling from the safety that I knew
like the leaves in autumn, like a slum in a paradise
like a waterfall, and like the pool at the bottom
You will catch me

Can you imagine
a love so strong it died for the world
and we, we’re all blind
blinded by our own flawed, stubborn will

and we can’t see,
how a love so free and simple lasts
but I’ve seen the love in everything
but my foolish thoughts and actions
cover me

Catch me from this life
save me from the dying man in me
hold Your hands out, Your sweet hands of mercy
cover me

Catch me from this life
save me from the dying man in me
hold Your hands out, Your sweet hands of mercy
cover me
hold Your hands out, oh hold Your hands out over me
hold Your hands out, Your sweet hands of mercy
cover me

...like a waterfall, and like the pool at the bottom
You will catch me
